Who Am I?

Hey! Thanks for your curiosity. I’m Raj, born in Manchester, England, and I live in Singapore where I got married to my smart, strong, and supportive wife. We have two amazing children who are loving, curious, and headstrong and both challenge and make us laugh every day.

I come from a family with travel in their blood, from my grandparents emigrating from India to Kenya and my parents moving from Kenya to England. My brother and I spent time in England, Kenya, and Nigeria as children, with trips to America, Europe, and Western Africa. This love of travel still lives within me and my family, and we love experiencing new places, cultures and food.

Defining Moments

My parents were forced to marry very young via an arranged marriage and soon left Kenya for England at a time when racism was the norm. I was exposed to domestic violence from a young age, and in response, my Mum ran away with two young boys, 10 pounds and a sewing machine to start a new life.

I experienced a life of ease to one of poverty, having everything to nothing. I learnt from this experience that people are adaptable and can achieve amazing things with support, love, openness and self-belief and that we have the ability to make changes, no matter how difficult or unachievable they may seem.

Coaching

Experience

My coaching journey began when I was invited to join a program called 'Enriching Your Relationship with Your Self and Others: A Personal Growth Program.' At that time, I was living on autopilot, following a routine of daily tasks. This course was a turning point, awakening me to who I truly was and making me aware of what I needed to change.

As a result, I reconnected with my wife through deep conversations, reigniting the spark that brought us together. I embraced personal growth, becoming a better listener and more present in life. This transformation inspired me to explore further.

I discovered the Co-active approach, which felt real, not filled with fluffy words and very much based on how people function. The techniques aligned with my experiences of overcoming difficult situations in my childhood, recognising that we all possess the power to change within ourselves. Embracing the Co-active approach, I have learned and grown tremendously, and now, I am eager to share with others.

I have worked in IT for over 25 years across several industries and roles. I spent over ten years as a consultant, regularly working in different companies with different people and cultures. In Singapore, I moved into Transformational & Agile Coaching, helping organisations implement changes through people, culture and mindset. Throughout my career, I have been coaching and mentoring people from all levels across many topics, from Leadership, growth, learning and navigating change.

I have experience in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Team Coaching and have completed the Co-Active Coach Training program and am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC). I am an active member of ICF. I continue to work as a Transformational Coach in addition to Coaching individuals.
